Jurrie played a major role in bol.com’s development in recent years. For example, under Jurrie’s leadership, the technology stack and data platform were modernized and a flexible and scalable services and cloud architecture was introduced. His approach always centered on a unique culture of collaboration, autonomy, professionalism and learning. He was a bridge builder between the engineers and product teams and built a strong IT community within bol.com.

Jurrie van Rooijen: “It has been an incredible honor for me as CTO for the past 13 years to build what is now one of the largest retail tech platforms in the Netherlands and Belgium. Bol.com has a unique innovative culture and thanks to the strength and expertise of our engineering teams we have been able to contribute technologically to the growth and success of bol.com. For me it is now time for a new challenge, where I will first take a break after this beautiful and intensive period. I would like to thank all bol.com colleagues for the fine cooperation over the past years and wish bol.com much success in the future.”

Adrian McPhee new CTO of bol.com

Adrian McPhee (44) will join bol.com’s management board from June 1, 2023. He is originally from Australia and has previously held technology leadership roles in a range of companies. For the past five years Adrian has been with LeasePlan, most recently as Chief Technology Officer. In this role, his responsibilities included LeasePlan’s global technology strategy, architecture, engineering, data & analytics as well as building cybersecurity and cloud capabilities.
