Utrecht, 22 september 2022 – After a period of careful testing, Cycloon and bol.com will start delivering the first bol.com parcels. Starting this week, bol.com customers can have their orders delivered to their homes by a Cycloon bicycle courier on a cargo bicycle. Packages from bol.com are gradually flowing into Cycloon’s delivery routes. The same applies to orders from sales partners who have outsourced their logistics to bol.com. Cycloon’s red and bol.com’s blue can also be seen together in residential areas. Some of the cargo bikes have been redesigned. Cycloon and bol.com share the ambition of making delivery more sustainable and social.
Cleaner and more social
In December 2021, bol.com and Cycloon reached an agreement on a majority stake of bol.com in Cycloon. The Consumer & Market Authority in The Netherlands granted approval for this strategic partnership in May, after which the transaction was finalised. Cycloon and bol.com want to make delivery services cleaner and more social. By working together, the companies are accelerating this ambition. Delivery by cargo bike is emission-free and keeps residential areas safe. Cycloon’s delivery drivers are making a difference here. Powered by ‘brown bread’, they deliver parcels throughout the Netherlands. The company employs hundreds of people with a (former) distance to the labour market. In twenty years, Cycloon has grown into the largest sustainable and social bicycle network in the world.
Cycloon red and bol.com blue
Cycloon operates in more than 60 cities in the Netherlands and that number continues to grow. The collaboration between Cycloon and bol.com is visually reinforced by the fact that both brands are visible on some of the cargo bikes. The logos on these are white, and the Cycloon red and bol.com blue provide great recognition in the streetscape. At the same time, Cycloon itself also developed a completely new house style, as Cycloon will continue to exist as an independent brand on, for example, cargo bikes, clothing and other expressions. Naturally, this new house style can also be seen on the part of the cargo bikes that carry both the Cycloon and bol.com brand colours.
